Ruth Thompson (She/Her/Hers) is an advocate and equity seeker driven to shift Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), currently she is with the DEI team at Avangrid. Ruth’s connection to advocacy and DEI stems from her personal commitment to make our communities more equitable, while working with vulnerable and underrepresented groups. Her experiences as Deputy Major for the Village of Scottsville, President for the Lions Club and commitment to community engagement have heightened her capabilities to view experiences and situations from a different lens and has assisted her in developing DEI initiatives at Avangrid. Most importantly, Ruth is the mother of her 11-year-old son named AJ, who is obsessed with coding, adventures, and swimming. Ruth is proud cisgender female who has a Native American (Cherokee) heritage and is committed to raising other up while assisting them to be self-sustainable and reach their fullest potential.
