Promoting the benefits of the Welsh language and bi-lingualism to families, young people, communities and businesses in Denbighshire

As Chief Officer I am responsible for strategic direction and management of our small team, and answerable to a board of directors.
Menter Iaith Sir Ddinbych is registered charity and a company limited by guarantee. We are very pleased to have been awarded Trusted Charity status by the NCVO in August 2020 and again in Sept 2023.

We work with partners in Welsh Government and Denbighshire County Council to improve the opportunities for people in communities across the county to use the Welsh language.

I take the lead on marketing and communications, strategic partnerships and new project development, whilst others in the team take a lead on activities for families and young people, and project delivery.

Regeneration strategy development focussing on tourism and destination management and marketing in Denbighshire. (job title emerged from re-structuring within the LA, where I’d originally started as Cultural Tourism & Marketing Manager, but essence of my role remained focussed on the visitor economy)

Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Sir Ddinbych a'r Cyffiniau 2013 - promotion of Denbighshire's cultural and tourism offer, support and guidance for businesses and key contact between the Eisteddfod and Denbighshire CC

Marketing and communications strategy, support and delivery for National Trust sites, campaigns and events throughout Wales.

Most significant campaign involvement was the 'Save Snowdon' campaign in 1998, where £5m was raised within 90 days through intense media activity, concerts and community events (without the benefit of digital media/social networks that exist today!)

Responsible for marketing and communications activity, with the aim to increase the number of visitors to the Trust's sites throughout Wales - mostly by working with partners in the tourism sector in Wales and UK, working closely with Visit Wales and Visit Britain.
