Ruth Irungu started messing around with computers and coding by trying to figure out how to change the title of a Word document at age 7. They are now a student at the University of Delaware, studying computer science with a concentration in cyber security and minoring in writing. Alongside being a dedicated student, she is involved in various clubs across campus, such as the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), and the WVUD radio station in hosting their own radio station as well as the role of Treasurer. You can catch her behind the desk in the Student Multimedia Design Center at the Morris Library, designing posters and helping students figure out how to work digital cameras.Outside of the rigors of academia and work, they enjoy traveling, reading nonfiction and fiction, and creating in all forms of the word. An avid collector of hobbies, Ruth has tried everything from painting to crocheting to teaching themself Korean. Her current projects are learning Metallica on electric guitar and establishing a personal VPN.
