On a promotion from the UK I was given the task of setting up the business from scratch in Qatar. Creating the Company from nothing including recruiting the staff to run the day-to-day business. Initially identifying the business premises for the showroom office and storage facilities and then organizing and arranging the fitting out all the facilities. Dealing with Banks, Auditors, Suppliers and Customers on a daily basis as well as having responsibility for Sales & Profit. Having been given the task of bringing the business into a profit within a five-year period, this was achieved within 4 years with no bad debt. In an addition - working with my assistant and Qatari sponsor within the ministries overseeing all the applications and negotiating the various governmental departments and visa applications. Having good knowledge and understanding of the unique Arabic customs and the Qatari business culture and traditions.
