Broad-based commercial real estate practice representing sellers, purchasers, borrowers, lenders, landlords, and tenants in the acquisition, sale, financing, development, and leasing of various developed and undeveloped commercial properties, with transaction values ranging from $100,000 to more than $50,000,000. Experience includes land-use and workouts.• Represented national clients that acquire and finance properties using tenant-in-common (TIC) ownership structure in combination with Section 1031 like-kind exchanges. In a two-year period, closed more than $100,000,000 in loans for such transactions in relating to properties all over the country.• Represented client in the acquisition and financing (including mezzanine financing) of several multi-family apartment complexes in Florida and Georgia, including an extremely complex $37 million acquisition and financing of partnership interests in a Florida partnership.• Successfully drafted and negotiated ground leases, space leases, financing documents (including construction financing), purchase and sale agreements, and other complex instruments in connection with the development of shopping centers, business parks, and other commercial properties. • Procured and reviewed due diligence items in connection with acquisitions. Examined title reports and commitments and successfully resolved complex title issues.• Represented borrowers in defeasance transactions.• Supervised junior associate attorneys, paralegals, and other staff. Member of the firm’s Associate Training and Supervision Committee.
