Coming from an engineering background, I have a huge passion for technology and find great joy in solving complex technical problems. At the same time, I genuinely believe we can reap the benefits of technology only when next to diminishing a limitation, we also adapt the way we work. Without changing our rules and processes, we will keep acting as if the limitation was still there. Next to that, despite being an engineer at heart, I've realised how often technology isn't what is holding an organisation back from increasing its performance. It is, in many cases, the people and the process that stand in the way of progress. That is why communication and leadership have the most significant potential to stimulate productivity and happiness in the complex ecosystems of modern enterprises. It is communication and leadership which creates a psychologically safe environment that dictates the organisation's pace of learning. And continuous learning is, in my opinion, the key to achieving high performance in an IT landscape. That is why I'm strongly drawn to methodologies like Lean, Agile and DevOps, and I continuously strive to deepen my knowledge in these areas.
