The Catskill Hudson Area Health Education Center addresses health professional shortages and workforce development in an 11-county region, offering career, continuing and clinical education to assist students, job seekers, and health professionals.It strengthens a diverse workforce and improve the supply of providers in underserved communities working with federal and state agencies, foundations, higher education, hospitals, health administration, public/population health groups, economic development and public education.We helped manage the nationally-recognized "Scrubs Club" after-school curriculum for high school students to learn about health careers, and related K-8 programs;We connected students with community care experiences, job shadowing and clinical rotations;We convened continuing education programs for nurses, EMS workers, interprofessional groupings, and providers who care for LGBTQ+ individuals, meeting emerging complex needs within the New York State health workforce in trauma-informed care and youth health; and we work in coalition on planning efforts in fields including addiction, health equity, HIV/AIDS and STI prevention and treatment, peer programming, rural health and immigrant services;And we created pipelines and pathways for growing the size and quality of the healthcare workforce. Worked with New York City Council and the Mayor's Office on policy for improving the quality of life of older adults, and reaching out to neighborhoods to publicize the results of a 2009 citywide Academy study on needs of older adults for improved civic and physical infrastructure.

Greater Denver Area

Managed communications, marketing, events and volunteers for a national model provider of community care for older adults and people with disabilities, and as part of a successful day-respite building project. Co-chaired a statewide coalition that increased funding to providers by upwards of $10 million. Helped open the 9/11 command center's joint public information center after the destruction of our unit at the World Trade Center, supervising a hotline for public inquiries, orienting multi-agency staff, and helping manage city website content.
