I am an experienced electrical engineer with an extensive background in power generation design and construction. To date my career has been marked by a diverse range of projects across solar PV, wind farms and data centres. The diversity of experience achieved across multiple roles and projects has deepened my expertise and solidified my reputation as a reliable, pragmatic and knowledgeable engineer.I have training and a wide array of experience in a number of modelling software, such as: EPLAN, DigSILENT PowerFactory, Amtech, IPSA and ETAP. As a compliment to power system modelling I also have experience in the design of earthing systems, using software packages such as; CDEGS, Safegrid and CymGRD. I have a competent knowledge of system studies required for the connection to distribution and transmission networks (grid code compliance studies), including:• Standard load flow and fault level studies.• Power quality studies investigating the impact on the existing power system of the injection of extra harmonic currents from new generators• Transient studies to investigate for example, fault ride through, transformer energisations and temporary over voltages • Sheath voltage rise in cable systems which can cause problems to sensitive electronics as well as heating up and damage to cable joints• Design of cross bonding systems for underground cable connectionsMy responsibilities recently have included developing designs from concept through to construction, preparation of electrical drawings (primary and secondary), ensuring compliance with client specifications and production of technical purchase specifications to accommodate grid connections. I have provided solutions and technical support to clients across the world ranging from system operators to small and large developers across power and demand stations from low voltage (400 V) to high voltage (400 kV) totaling approximately 1.5 GW power generation.
