Environmental water and soil samples were collected and analyzed using molecular techniques as part of the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative for the US EPA.-Conducted research on substrates used in a dry anaerobic digester, which was the first of its kind in the Western Hemisphere..-Conducted research (real-time quantitative PCR, primer/probe design, data analysis, physical testing, and publication) on the microbiological community and substrates of an anaerobic digester.
