For the Summer of 2024, I worked with the Product Engineering team at ADT. My Capstone project focused on setting up, writing test cases for, and conducting tests of residential smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors, to create an extensive audio library for life safety detectors, and to improve siren detection and reduce false alarm triggers. I was also in charge of power testing 2 new AC-DC switching mode PSU designs to be used with ADT's smart home security devices. I was able to accomplish a lot during my short time and was awarded the Intern Innovator Award for my positive impact.• Tested and approved 2 AC-DC switching power supply designs from a new manufacturer for use with ADT's smart home security devices • Assessed input voltage fluctuation, voltage ripple, and overload protection using oscilloscope, DC electronic load, and variable AC supply • Utilized advanced audio test equipment and software to conduct precise and accurate time data recordings of temporal-three and four alarms • Recorded an extensive audio library of over 1300 samples using a DAQ and microphone for Google's ML team to enhance alarm detection • Innovator Award: Recognized by managers and coordinators for exceptional performance and efficient execution of tasks
