I have been working in the construction industry since I was old enough to work. During high school, I worked as a laborer for a general contractor in my hometown. While pursuing a degree in aerospace engineering from San Diego State University, I worked on campus in several of the University’s engineering and maintenance departments, including the chiller plant, co-gen plant and electrical shop. During the summers, I returned home to work for a framing contractor building high-end custom homes.After entering the aerospace industry, I quickly realized that my passion was construction, so I enrolled in California State University, Sacramento to earn a degree in construction management. During my time in Sacramento, I worked with Harbison-Mahony-Higgins Builders on several large California healthcare projects. My previous field knowledge led to a position as the lead quality assurance/quality control inspector, which became my initiation into the OSHPD world.After graduating, My next goal was to become a Certified Hospital Inspector. After receiving my certification, I met Jim Embleton and left HMH to accept a position at Stanford Hospital as an Inspector of Record.
