This includes managing capital facilities projects such as renovation or construction of library facilities; ensuring proper maintenance of WCLS-owned facilities; and ensuring up-to-date, welcoming, energy-efficient, and sustainable community libraries. Provides strategic leadership in developing and executing the library system’s Capital plan. Oversees maintenance of the WCLS fleet of vehicles, including delivery trucks, passenger vehicles, and a Bookmobile. Supervises Facilities Department staff; serves as a member of the WCLS management team; develops and implements facilities policies and procedures; coordinates departmental purchasing; performs other duties as assigned.

The Facilities Services Coordinator administers the preventive maintenance program for all facilities, grounds and utilities at WWU. The coordinator is responsible for asset inventory management of any asset requiring preventive maintenance. Document PM data from all shop supervisors, specific skilled trades, and from data sources (including manufacturer recommendations) in the FAMIS Computer Maintenance Management System. Perform field surveys of facilities and equipment; identify and document preventive maintenance work scopes, task frequencies, and crew needs to meet scheduled tasks; and monitoring and tracking performance of PM work throughout all shops and their adherence to PM schedules. Work closely with customers, maintenance shops, and maintenance staff in documenting this program to ensure compliance with customer needs, equipment manufacturers’ requirements, and service intervals based on frequency of use. For all customers, recommend an annual PM budget for their area of funding responsibility, revising the PM program to meet their budget requirements. Fully inform customers on the impacts of their PM budget decisions. My position is charged with program administration and facilitating the collection of asset/equipment data and Preventive Maintenance (PM) recommendations from FM skilled trades and other data sources to build and document a complete PM program supporting all FM operations in campus buildings, grounds and utility systems.

Services, inspects and repairsroofing tools and equipment.May be requested to provide material and labor estimates for completion of a project (takeoff) Submit a detailed and accurate material list of roofing estimate to supervisor. Have a basic knowledge of carpentry, and sheet metal skills, as they would pertain to journey level roofing work. Report necessary repairs and recommend corrective actions. Set up and operate specialized equipment including man-lifts. Use hand and power tools generally used within this trade area. Assist and/or work with other trades and crafts as required. Must be mechanically proficient and have the ability to work independently. Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills that strengthen and provide a positive image, and a friendly and cooperative manner with students, staff, and faculty at all levels of the organization and in contacts with the public Ability to work from blueprints plans and sketches to estimate material and time required for job completion. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Effectively read and understand written information and instructions. Provide technical information as necessary.
