Design of next-generation laser-based 3D scanning system for high-resolution digitization (color and geometry) of artwork. Responsible for opto-mechanical design and system hardware architecture for the proprietary scanner device. Additional support for design of light-weight high-accuracy automated robotic motion system. Top priority always given to safety of the artwork and trust of clients, conservators, and collectors with whom the company partnered.The next-generation 3D scanner project was aimed at artwork digitization applications. This is a further development of a unique laser-based scanner technology that captures high-resolution color and geometry data with zero registration error. Success of this project meant higher speeds, higher accuracy, and higher reliability.Responsible for maintaining scanning technology roadmap. Manage day-to-day project deliverables for next-gen scanning technology.Design test procedures for all points in the product development cycle. Data analysis and post processing of large point-cloud datasets. Troubleshooting of analog and digital data acquisition electronics. Use of instrumentation and simulation tools to validate power stability, color accuracy, resistance to vibrations, and resistance to ambient and internal temperature changes.
