I was the child in the family who had to be taking things to pieces and eventually this lead to the need to put things back together, I needed to know how things worked and eventually this moved from my toys to computers, and audio equipment. I have always been competitive and this has lead to competing at a high level in several sports including swimming, archery and badminton. Through sports I have learned to work to my strengths and to those of others while training to remove the weaknesses. Recently having been the President of my universities badminton club I have been able to take a more administrative and organisational role within sport and have gained an appreciation for what goes on behind the scenes. Through my degree I was able to work with excellent classmates in group work simulating work on a real team leading to the designing of tidal schemes and buildings, this has provided a base which I hope to build on while working in the field of civil engineering particularly within the geotechnical area of the profession,
