Lead political, economic, and social advocacy on behalf of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and the World Communion of Reformed Churches within the United Nations community representing a Christian population of approximately 80 million members in 108 countries with UN member states, UN Secretariat and other relevant actors. Identify priorities and shape strategies of the New York office including staffing, policy priorities, communications, ecumenical and interfaith relations, funds development and budget management. Increased written submissions to the United Nations ECOSOC, General Assembly, Security Council and Human Rights Council. Chair ecumenical women’s rights coalition of 17 organizations representing more than 500 million people worldwide, implementing member based initiatives that change each year, first male to ever serve in the chairperson’s position. Direct a 13-member anti-human trafficking staff team, including strategic planning and budget. Advanced institutional policy to employ human rights standards in its approach. Lead communications strategy on behalf of the Presbyterian Ministry at the United Nations. Lead advocacy and policy trainings and workshops to diverse global audiences. Serve on and in leadership in United Nations related working groups on topics including the United Nations Security Council, Israel-Palestine, Ecumenical Women, Religious Freedom, Food and Hunger Working Groups and maintain relationships with UN Special Rapporteurs.

Lead government relations and advocacy on behalf of the nearly 2 million member Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and the estimated 80 million member World Communion of Reformed Churches. Administer a 12-member anti-human trafficking staff team, including budget, to end human trafficking. Serve on the Executive Committee of ECPAT-USA’s Board of Directors, leading administration and development, reducing budget shortfalls by $100,000. Lead UN related working groups.

Responsible for policy analysis for special populations including immigration, refugee, human trafficking and juvenile justice issues. Make recommendations to Senior Vice President for policy related decisions. Serve as alternate board member for Catholic Charities USA on the government mandated Emergency Food and Shelter Board. Lead key partnerships as well as e-advocacy efforts for the organization.

Worked with the Permanent Delegate of CI to the United Nations to coordinate efforts around the Millennium Development Goals, including Security Council briefings, high-level talks, and contacts with Permanent Missions. Provided research on international development and other issues. Interacted with Senior Level UN staff, UN Mission Member states, CONGO and CIVICUS NGO networks.

Taught English and American culture for grades 5-13. Conducted academic research on the economic relationship between Eastern and Western Germany. Fellowship through the U.S. Department of State.

Responsible for the Admission’s Office student staff, including hiring, discipline, evaluations. Additionally, interviewed and recruited prospective students and families and represented Hartwick at College fairs. Supervised a staff and budget at an undergraduate upper-class building of approximately 140 students.
