While at Ryan Aerospace I was responsible for the design and creation of a new Collective Lever for the R-22 Helicopter simulator.Design criteria: 1. The collective needs to accurately mimic the behaviour of an R-22 collective. 2. Modular design which can be installed in both a one and two person cockpit.3. Functional twist throttle (linkable with the left seat collective)4. Functional governor switch on pilots side.5. Functional collective friction adjustment.6. Two Integrated position sensors which communicate collective pitch and throttle position to the main motherboard via USBDeliverables included:• One fully functional collective lever, ready to be installed.• Design Report with supporting calculations, simulations, and material selection. • Manufacturing drawing set and Bill of Materials

• Communicated with clients, vendors and, consultants.• Prepared Design Plan sets.• Produced quality design results in an efficient manner. My time at D&Z was an amazing learning opportunity. The real-world knowledge I gained while working with skilled engineers has validated the theoretical knowledge I have gained during my studies at Griffith. Additionally, my contact with clients and consultants improved my interpersonal skills and showed me the value of project management skills.

• Maintained, setup, and operated multiple CNC Mills at a time. • Produce precise and accurate parts. • Monitored parts using CMM (coordinate measuring machine) • Supervised and instructed saw operators. • Signed off on Material orders.Airpoint Precision produced the highest quality parts possible. Not only were all tolerance to be met but machined surfaces were always pristine. Mill operators had to have a firm understanding of the machine and the cutting tools used, but also an eye for detail so as to know when something needed adjustment.
