As the son of successful entrepreneurs and the grandson of the nation’s top cheese salesman (his trophy from Kraft Foods sits at the center of my office and motivates me every day), I grew up learning the art of building relationships and going the extra mile. These qualities are a huge part of who I am and have been foundational in my career in finance. I got my start in consumer banking, where I quickly learned that people just want someone to actually listen to them and take their problems seriously—whether it’s figuring out a mortgage or just finding an extra chair in the lobby. They need to know you’re in their corner, and that’s stuck with me ever since.Next up was commercial banking. I spent my days buried in financial statements and ratios, helping businesses make all kinds of decisions, big and small, from buying new equipment to buying whole companies. Around the same time, I tried my hand at entrepreneurship, running my own small business, where I learned that networking and negotiating is basically a full-time job.Now, as a Managing Director at CIBC Private Wealth Management in Houston, I get to combine everything I’ve learned to help high-net-worth clients and their families. I love sitting down, hearing their stories, and figuring out ways our team can bring their goals to life. It can feel like a giant puzzle at times, but solving it is incredibly rewarding.At the end of the day, my job is all about building relationships that last. Plus, I get to help people along the way—which is really the best part of it all.
