I was initially employed as an Operator and through my tenure I was promoted to Supervisor for teams of up to 25. I was part of the shutdown crew and whilst we worked on many shutdowns across WA including iron ore and gold mining and offshore installations, most of my time was spent across Alcoa’s Wagerup, Pinjarra and Kwinana alumina refineries. Associated role deliverables and achievements included (but not limited to):► As a Leading Hand then Supervisor, I led the delivery of HPWJ projects for shutdowns within schedule, cost, quality and safety parameters by identifying critical tasks, planning accordingly, focusing resources on tackling prioritised items first, providing technical and procedural guidance and support, and ensuring the on-time availability of critical equipment ► Operated high pressure water jetting (HPWJ) gear including ultra-high pressure water jetting pumps and equipment, fixed and flexible lancing for heater tubes and pipework, tank cleaning heads, pipe de-scaling (up to 1450bar) using hose reels and other equipment, and a wide range of remote control de-scale rigs including Hammelmann, Brokk and WOMA► High pressure water jetting for pipe and tube cleaning and de-scaling, tank and vessel cleaning, removal of protective and surface coatings, and general plant de-scaling, for onshore mining and refining, and offshore oil and gas shutdowns► Utilised various boroscope cameras for inspections to ensure safe and high-quality work practices were being followed at all times► Catalyst handling services including loading and unloading, grading, transportation and storage of spent catalyst► Operated Kingvac and Spoutvac vacuum trucks to gather, transport and transfer materials and waste.
