Profile bio

About Ryan Feldman

For nearly twenty years, I worked in Construction Project Management and Real Estate Development. I gained incredible experience in the sector – I am grateful for my time in the field and for opportunities like naming an entire major residential street after a family member (who happened to be my cat), and helping to manage the construction of a Center City skyscraper. Becoming a father to twins a few years ago completely changed my outlook on life, and what I wanted my legacy to be. I realized that I wanted focus my endeavors on something to improve the world in which my children were going to live. I was struck by the thought that the most direct and impactful way to change the world for the better is to help shape the next generation. That is how I came to join Teach For America, and it is the reason that I get out of bed every morning--to help build up a better world for my children, by building independent, critical thinkers. Teach For America’s mission is to work toward one day where all children will have access to great neighborhood schools. As a corps member I am part of a network of change-makers committed to realizing that mission through all angles including teaching, school leadership, and policy change. My two-year teaching commitment as a corps member will end in June, and my commitment to educational equity is just beginning. I can easily say that these past few years with TFA have been by far the most challenging of my professional career. At the same time, I can also say that they have been the most satisfying. I am positively impacting real people in a very direct way. Nearly every day, I get to experience the thrill of watching students have their “breakthrough” or “lightbulb moment”.

Listed skills include Construction Management, Construction, Real Estate Development, Leed, and 18 others.
