About Ryan Fleming
After finishing my Bachelor of Civil Engineering in 2008, I had the opportunity to travel for 2+ years around Canada, the US and Europe. This gave me a great perspective on what New Zealand has to offer to the rest of the world as well as the challenges associated with its geographical location.I am working for Fletcher Living in the Land Development TeamI have a passion for systems, processes, cultures and general ideas that can aid in bringing the Construction industry into the 21st century. I thrive on the development of ideas (my own or others) to achieve anything from small perspective shifts through to large scale tangible applications. My desire to learn gives me great pleasure in keeping up with / developing the 'latest and greatest' as well as an appreciation for the learnings of those that have gone before us. As a Project Engineer at Piletech i am involved in leading a project from tender award and translating this to the finished product. My main areas of focus involve leading and/or self performing project planning, programming, contract management, client communication, site visits, financials (including cost forecasting and reporting) and H&S and Quality reporting. I also encourage and spend time developing ideas and building efficiency into our projects and our organisation as a whole with the use of Lean construction initiatives and encouraging innovation.

Overseas Experience / Travel
You name it, i probably did it for a job at one point or another in these two years. I worked in Lake Louise in Alberta, Canada on anything from making snow for the World Cup ski event to rebuilding a ski for a big mountain freeride competition skiier. And for a slightly warmer climate i was also a Mountain bike guide on the north shore of Vancouver or a baker in Whistler while mountain biking in my spare time.
