As an employee of London Hydro I have developed skills and understanding surrounding the construction aspect of hydro installation and repair. I have gathered through my experience knowledge about electrical projects regarding new subdivisions as well as maintaing the preexisting electrical network that is currently established. My work has involved the installation of primary and secondary service cable, duct structuring within trench, vault and manhole repair,cable fault locating and repair, transformer installation and removal as well as other construction related activities that arise during any emergency repair. As a construction worker I have the pleasure of working with other members of the utility.I believe this helps to develop my abilities of working within a team in order to accomplish work projects. This experience has developed personal skills such as teamwork, leadership, responsibility, patience, and many others. The ability to learn from more experienced workers has helped to provide understanding of efficient and effective tactics in order to see work accomplished.I have taken on the role of acting crew lead hand when available which has opened new opportunities for my career development. This role requires leadership, problem solving, and the ability to direct a crew to the completion of projects as assigned. I have developed specific skills such as reading blueprints, material requisition, and communication with third party contractors. It is my desire to continue developing my career by building on my established skills and experience.
