I helped this early stage startup grow to $3M ARR and beyond. I designed aspects of the core product, making Durable’s AI-powered website builder even easier to use while improving the quality of the generated websites. I also designed the UI and helped engineer the prompts for a new logo and brand builder product.

I worked with a team of PMs, engineers, and other UXers on the strategy and tactics for “the largest update to our product model in over a decade.” I led design on key projects, including the redesign of variant creation and product filtering for themes. I played a senior role on product bundling, a new product taxonomy, and discount stacking, all of which addressed major merchant pain points. I also provided mentorship and support to designers across the Merchandising org.

I helped maintain the Polaris design system by collaborating with other design teams, enhancing and adding components, improving the website and documentation, conducting workshops, and supporting the open-source community. I then changed roles to focus on merchant-facing products, leading design revisions for Shopify’s home screen and product pricing tools.

I helped launch the Polaris design system in 2017, for which I wrote many of the design guidelines. I helped simplify Shopify’s product typography and worked with front-end developers to make sure it rolled out painlessly. I also helped define a merchant-centric future vision for order management.
