While most 10-year-olds were watching cartoons before school, I ate my Cap’n Crunch with the Rocky Mountain News spread across the table. I didn’t know it then, but I was setting the foundation for a career in public relations and marketing. I saw that a crisply reported, persuasive story was power. While the channels have changed, compelling stories remain the best way to drive action. After more than 20 years in communications and marketing, I still find deep fulfillment in identifying insightful, helpful, relatable stories and molding them to the right channels, whether a blog, media pitch, sponsored article or TikTok video. Of course, stories create the most impact when they support broader organizational efforts, like campaigns to connect with a certain audience, rehabilitate a reputation, or introduce a new product. I love this profession because we’ll never run out of good stories to tell. Sometimes they just take some digging. Specialties: Content strategy, social media and media relations.
