Thus, this experience involved working with all aspects of creating finished OBE products, including die extrusion, painting, anodizing, packing, assembly, and shipping.Projects:⦿ Job Element Sheets(JES) ●Created 7 JES documents that outline, in detail, instructions for installing different hardware on various OBE products. ●These documents were distributed to all OBE facilities worldwide and will standardize the quality of products produced for all OBE customers.⦿Door Saw Cutting Machine Time Study ●Aimed to create a cycle time for a single door. ●All parts that are cut on this machine were studied and a dynamic chart was created to get a cycle time for any given door by allowing the user to add or remove any specific part. ●Recommendations based on observed waste and inefficiencies were also given.⦿MAIN PROJECT: Paint Formulation Mini-DMAIC ●Performed a comprehensive data analysis of 174 days of day-to-day paint inventory tracking for accuracy. ●Identified a clear issue with a 15% error rate between starting and ending inventories. ●Performed a root cause analysis that involved recognizing patterns in errors, observing the current process, and reviewing outside factors with operators. ●Validated these issues and explored solutions with fellow engineers and paint operators. ●Created a detailed work instruction based on these solutions. ●Updated the department Process Flow Diagram and initiated a timeline for PFMEA, Control Plan, and JES documents to be updated. ●Filled out an A3 document, wrote a comprehensive report of the project, and created a presentation for management.
