Design Engineer Intern / Autocad Operator
CurrentMy current position with Direct A/V has given me the opportunity to utilize the design skills acquired in the electrical engineering courses that were incorporated in the mechanical engineering program at San Diego State University. The engineering responsibilities assigned to me included; reviewing customer specifications regarding the operational requirements of the proposed system, integrating the correct products to achieve these requirements, and designing circuitry to support user interface. These projects included; Terminal 3 Transportation Security Administration (TSA) security Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) system that was integrated with the inline customer baggage screening process at Los Angeles World Airport, conference rooms with interactive video conferencing for the City of Gardena Council Chamber, and large format public viewing area with multiple video display units for the ESPN Zone at the Nokia Center located in Los Angeles. The Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), and Final Design Review (FDR) processes are incorporated in the development of all projects. The delivery method for these designs was based on AutoCAD 2008. All required documentation was submitted for customer review as part of the design process with customer comments and feedback integrated into the project revisions. I work closely with the senior staff engineers to maintain the company design criteria that the customer base has come to expect. This provides me the opportunity to learn different approaches to problem solving and exposed me to a large selection of industry products available to the design community.
