I graduated cum laude from University of Miami's Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric, and Earth Science. I majored in Marine Science & Biology and minored in Business Management, earning a 3.54 GPA. My coursework included: Research Diving, Intro to Aquaculture, Tropical Coastal Ecosystems, Marine Vertebrate Zoology, Biophysical Dynamics in the Ocean, and Independent Research in Marine Science Courses.I studied abroad for a semester in the Galapagos Islands (Isabella), Ecuador. The UGalapagos program was conducted through the University of Miami Staff completing advanced coursework. I volunteered at the Giant Tortoise Breeding Center.I completed an Undergraduate Research Thesis for Marine Science Honors. My thesis project was titled: Improving seedstock production of Olive flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus) through impact assessment of light exposure regimes in early life stages. My research project was completed at the University of Miami's Experimental Hatchery on Virginia Key, Florida.My Business Management minor included courses such as Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior, Operations Management, and Change Management. During my time at the University of Miami, I was involved with three separate research laboratories that led me to my deep interest in aquaculture and sustainable food production. The first research laboratory focused on Ocean Acidification of Corals led by Dr. Chris Langdon determining degradation or growth of corals. The second research lab focused on Benthic Ecology & Coral Restoration led by Dr. Diego Lirman. My independent project involved an attempt to strengthen coral restoration through creating coral chimeras transplanted to the Florida Reef Tract. I utilized ImageJ software to analyze photographs of transplanted coral to determine genotypic growth rates and genotypic interactions. My third research lab focused on experimental aquaculture research led by Dr. John Stieglitz and Dr. Daniel Benetti. Initially I worked to maintain life support systems, performed system maintenance, provided medical dosage, biosecurity, fish moves, and supported nutritional studies for a variety of marine finfish species. This led to my Honors Research Thesis Project.
