A multi-discipline role requiring a broad knowledge of Technology, staying abreast of key technology trends. Providing technology leadership for AstraZeneca in a constantly evolving landscape, rapidly specialising in the latest areas of new technologies.Developed and adoption on several Proof of Concepts, from a technical and non-technical standpoint, across Operations, Commercial and Sustainability. These Proof of Concepts included Large Language Model development, Remote Monitoring of Forests, and the delivery of Global Satellite Internet. Leading the Technology Innovation Thought Leadership pipeline, writing articles and chairing discussions on various topics, from financial instability to Generative AI and Satellite Communication.

Supported the delivery of the Smart Factories Innovation Hub, its transit and operation from North Ryde to Macclesfield. Project Managing aspects of the delivery and supporting the initialisation of the Commercial, Research and Warehousing Showcases. My role was to support the implementation of Digital Technologies within the Operations functions of AstraZeneca, this included technologies such as: Mixed Reality, Artificial Intelligence.Delivered a Change Management Portal, to allow Operators to understand the value of innovative/emerging technology that could have an impact on the future of factory operations. Highlighting that emerging technology will help remove menial tasks to help improve operational excellence.

Constructed an automated Backend Data Pipeline, that supported internal crowdsourcing campaigns. Moving, manipulating and tokenizing the data as it passed from internal social media platforms to a data visualisation tools. Explored internal social media platforms to build network graphs to help understand of presence across these platforms. Showing correlations between demand and interactions on social media platforms, within AstraZeneca.

Was the technical lead for a Data Science project. This project led to massive savings in both cost and time, by automating human decisions using Decision Trees and Natural Language Processing. This solution was a major contribution to the transformation of the business area that it supported, saving approximately 1,000+ man-hours each quarter.Working with two other early talent members, we created a Code Club within AstraZeneca. With the ambition to teach beginner level Python to as many people as possible! As of June 2020, we have taught over 300 people and have recently collaborated with the AstraZeneca Data Science Academy to help the next wave of early Data Scientists.

Whilst working in this role, I created a number of Augmented Reality and Digital Health Applications. Within this role, I fine-tuned my existing programming skills and knowledge, learning three new programming languages. Ran a number of Proof of Concepts (PoC) across numerous technical areas and disciplines. Working in an Agile small team of developers, I rapidly developed applications which supported these large scale PoC’s that were run cross-functionally within AstraZeneca.

Reinvented the Technology Innovation Network, broadcasting an on-screen event to 3,500+ AstraZeneca employees. Collaborating with a number of external technology vendors, who came into present on the network (Amazon, Samsung, Vodafone)Participated and organised in three internal hackathons, working cross-functionally with a number of different areas within AstraZeneca. Developing a number of solutions including, Voice to Text skills and Web Organisation tools. Supported the development of an internal Chat bot for the AstraZeneca Senior Leaders Meeting, including testing and running in the moment analytics on uptake and usage of the bot. All within the first eight months of leaving the education system.
