I lead a team of amazing engineers which are the SME's for all the manufacturing equipment on campus. We are responsible for introducing new equipment to the site, maintaining the existing equipment, troubleshooting the most complex issues that arise from the floor, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

I was the SME for process equipment in the upstream manufacturing suites. My expertise was focused in media prep (pasteurization), cell culture (incubators, rockers, and bioreactors), and harvest (centrifugation). I took great pride in being the main point of contact for my area of responsibility (day or night) to assist the manufacturing floor with anything they needed.

I oversaw a team of 11 utility operators to manage and maintain our 24/7 biologics facility. Our team was responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of steam boilers, chillers (glycol and water), air compressors, tower water, emergency electrical generators, water purification, vapor compression stills (WFI generation), bulk chemicals, specialty gases, biological waste management, and process waste.

I was the subject matter expert for all things HVAC related. In less than a month of arriving on the job, I improved all the critical IT closet's air flow, approved an entire building's HEPA certifications, and re-wrote how the site would handle ODS filings.

I obtained the proper clearance needed for my job issued by the Department of Defense. I then developed original designs for cabinet structures and installation kits, performed conceptual modeling of all subassemblies within a unique cabinet structure to meet platforms’ shock, vibration, humidity, material, and thermal standards, and prepared drawings for the detailed design phase by documenting proper fasteners, inserts, fabrication standards, geometric tolerances and dimensioning per the drawing standards of the respective contracts.The highlight of my duties was to supported contracts under the MoD for the Royal Navy by back-fitting the legacy system overseas. I oversaw and participated in the design and installation of new equipment onboard naval vessels, as well as at shore-site facilities, as the subject matter expert.
