I’m looking to start my scientific career in a role where I can not only further my knowledge, but also utilise my leadership, team management, support and problem-solving skills. I’m looking for an opportunity where I can personally grow and develop and have the opportunity to do the same for my team. My Bachelor of Science degree, I majored in biotechnology, minor in biology and genetics. A three month volunteer internship at Lumos Diagnostics in California cemented my passion. My previous research focused on identifying secreted proteins involved with regeneration in Acanthaster plancii. My Honours degree and current PhD research involve detection of nucleic acids and proteins utilising point-of-care, lateral flow, rapid test assays. I intend to further explore this diagnostic capability, with the inclusion of more complex microfluidic platforms.
