Principal Engineer | Leading £19m LUF SchemeAs the Principal Engineer, I am currently leading a cross-functional team in the delivery of LUF funded £19 million project. This complex and high-stakes initiative involves the following key responsibilities and achievements:- Leadership & Team Management: I direct a diverse team of engineers, designers, and support staff, ensuring seamless collaboration and communication across all phases of the project.- Strategic Planning: I develop and implement comprehensive project plans, aligning objectives with organisational goals and stakeholder expectations.- Budget Oversight: I manage the project budget of £19 million, ensuring cost-effective solutions and adherence to financial constraints without compromising quality.- Risk Management: I identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies, ensuring project delivery within the established timeline and budget.- Stakeholder Engagement: I maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, providing regular updates and incorporating feedback to enhance project outcomes.- Quality Assurance: I ensure all deliverables meet the highest standards of quality, through rigorous testing and validation processes.- Problem-Solving: I address and resolve challenges promptly, maintaining project momentum and ensuring successful completion.This role hones my skills in leadership, strategic planning, and complex problem-solving, and demonstrates my ability to deliver large-scale projects successfully.

Leading on the Shoreditch Plan and Cycle Future Route 3. Responsible for delivering over £1 million worth of S106 schemes in Shoreditch and delivering a new 3km east to west cycle route in Hackney worth over £7 million.

Responsible for ensuring that all schemes allocated during the financial year are completed within budget and on time.> Carrying out site investigations, commissioning surveys and analysing accident date to ensure the scheme is produced to its maximum potential.> Preparing concept, preliminary and detailed design CAD drawings for the contractors, stakeholders and for consultation purposes.> Communicating frequently with contractors, stakeholders, local councilors and residents during the schemes life cycle.> Produce delegated authority (DA) reports, consultation documents, works notifications and organise early contractors involvement (ECI) meetings> Producing and preparing estimate costs for each allocated scheme and ensuring the designs are within the allocated budget agreed.> Raising work permits and preparing a works package for the contractor to ensure they have all the essential information to initiate the scheme.> Supervise the works on site and carry out a joint measurement with the contractors to agree the cost of the scheme.

Hackney

I was an apprentice engineer for Hackney Council for 4 years. During my time as an apprentice I worked within various sub teams; Road Safety, Traffic Management and the cycling team. During my 4 years I delivered a variety of schemes from accident remedial, pedestrian accessibility, public realm improvement, Cycle Super Highway 1 and Central London Cycle Grid.In the Design and Engineering team in Hackney we are unique, in a way where carry out the scheme from feasibility stage, all the way up until implementation. As a result I've learned all of the internal Hackney Council procedures, in addition to all of the engineering aspects involved when developing a scheme from feasibility to implementation.During my time at Hackney Council I've completed a BTEC Level 3 qualification in Civil Engineering, an NVQ Level 3 in Civil Engineering and recently achieved a Distinction in HNC Civil Engineering. I shall be starting my BEng in Civil Engineering this year.In addition with the above academic qualifcations I have also undertaken a NRSWA course during my time at Hackney Council and also a two week RoSPA course.
