● Constructed closed-loop wind tunnel and separate test chamber to evaluate Calcite direct air capture (DAC) technology. Was responsible for the fabrication of the wind tunnel frame as well as the sourcing, wiring, and implementation of various sensors, controls, and other critical components.● Developed and implemented multiple iterations of a LabVIEW PID program to record test data and maintain test conditions by communicating with controls and sensors via DAQ hardware. The final product was an intuitive, capable program that was easily adaptable to changing demands.● Created a standard operating procedure that was used for all tests, including a series of benchmark validation tests. These were used to simulate Calcite at an industrial scale to determine its long-term financial viability.● Performed analysis of test data using lab equipment and TDMS to learn about Calcite. Used conclusions to advise the team on possible changes that could be made or variables that needed additional research.
