Volunteer research assistant in the Breast Cancer Research Lab (BCRL). Tasks included:-Measured rat adrenal necrotic tissue area throughout various samples via computer software (ImgJ)-Preformed H&E staining on various slides, adjusting times for each step as necessary-Used ImgJ to identify, mark, and label whole mounts of rat uterine lining tissue-Assisted in preforming sacrifice for rats; this included (but was not limited to) removing fat deposits, takingsamples (or the whole) of various organs, and extracting blood directly from heart for later testing-Made weekly powerpoints/presentations on what was accomplished that week, as well as any possible new insight as to what the data represents or could represent in the future through critical thinking and trend analysis-Be familiar with and use box plots as means to describe data, as well as preforming one way ANOVAtests on said data-Maintained effective communication throughout all parties of the lab, including regular staff and other interns
