He challenges his students to think critically. He expects each student to present the highest level of work especially when it comes to the presentation of data through graphs. However, Dr. Mattson is easy to talk to and relates well to students. I know from first hand experience that he is especially helpful answering questions, which is very important with such a challenging class that presents some very complex topics. I took his class on Money & Banking for the Spring 2018 semester and I learned a great deal in twelve weeks. The design of the curriculum is robust to say the least, but the work of Mishkin, Barnett, Shiller, & Rogoff prepare students for the rigorous midterm and final exams. Students who are looking to learn a great deal about money will benefit greatly from this class and have a lot fun in the process. And I was somewhat apprehensive about the Crypto final, but it turned out to be a lot of fun to work on..."
