At Verstand AI, I have worked to provide end-to-end implementation of business intelligence and cloud data analytics solutions to both our product development and professional services clients. My role encompasses a wide range of related topics such as developing data models, custom reporting, data engineering, leading technical teams, requirements gathering, conducting structured training sessions, and data visualization. Some key highlights of this role include: • Worked as Lead BI Developer on two emerging pharmaceutical compliance software products using Looker, Redshift, and other AWS services. • Administrated production and development Looker environments, including security, user management, configuration, and GitHub repository management.• Designed and developed multiple production data models and reporting suites for a leading food and beverage retailer using Power BI and BigQuery.• Co-developed and taught a three-month course on BI best practices and BI development as part of federated analytics initiative.• Instructed user training workshops, guided product development, and conducted dozens of formal requirements gathering sessions.• Developed internal procedures for Verstand’s BI division, including requirements gathering frameworks and reporting style guides.• Led teams of junior developers on both Power BI and Looker based projects.• Wrote several thought leadership pieces on data visualization, BI consulting practices, and advanced LookML concepts.

My primary responsibility as a quantitative research consultant was to analyze and communicate the effects of large-scale energy programs to our commercial and regulatory clients. In this position, I conducted analyses, worked on teams building ETL pipelines, and built visualization solutions to transform the reporting and data science workflows of DNV GL’s largest customers. Listed below are several key highlights from this position:• Spearheaded the reporting redesign initiative for primary client, transitioning five major projects to interactive, cloud-based solutions.• Played a key role in successful contract rebid effort, writing the BI and analytics proposal section, resulting in an award of over $25 million.• Contributed across multiple project teams conducting statistical analyses for major electric utilities and energy providers.• Worked as part of a team developing ETL pipelines for several large New England electric and gas utilities.

Worked with Dr. Jonathan Rubin and Dr. Caroline Noblet to study adoption of autonomous vehicle technologies and their associated environmental, climate, and land-use effects. This work led to several independent research papers. Through this position, I have gained experience in survey design and implementation, empirical model building, and statistical analysis.• Co-authored several independent research papers and presentations on autonomous vehicle adoption. • Developed novel statistical method of forecasting travel pattern changes due to autonomous vehicle adoption in the Northeast United States.• Contributed to design and implementation of large-scale survey of driving behaviors and autonomous vehicle attitudes.

Collaborated with academic and local stakeholders to investigate the ecological and economic changes that have impacted the Penobscot River and Wetlands ecosystems. The work was done with an interdisciplinary team of economists, ecologists, marine biologists, and historians.• Conducted extensive literature review and research effort to initiate project.• Designed and implemented Filemaker database to contain project data from disparate sources, pulling together findings from many different teams.

Worked as part of the Global Communications Team to aid in public relations, economic analysis, and coordinating with state and federal governments. In addition, I helped to organize and develop the NIST/AMTECH-funded Consortium for Manufacturing Innovation in Structural Thermoplastics (CMIST), which was represented at several major conferences in 2015.
