During his time as CFO at Eureka, the company embarked on a significant period of growth which saw the company's market capitalisation grow from $10m in June 2014 to over $170m in August 2016. At Ryan's commencement at Eureka in 2014, the company was the manager of retirement villages (on behalf of other owners) and generated EBITDA of $1.5m. Over the course of the next 3 years, Eureka grew significantly through the acquisition of 26 retirement villages across Australia resulting in the profitability of the group growing significantly to EBITDA of over $9.8m on an annualized basis as at May 2017. During this period of growth, Ryan was extensively involved at all stages of the acquisition process including due diligence (including many prospective opportunities that failed the due diligence process), settlement, integration and on-going reporting. As each village was acquired, Ryan was required to manage the process of obtaining independent valuations for each property as well as seeking updated valuations as required by the auditors and bank post settlement. Ryan was instrumental to ensuring that there was never any revenue lost as a result of the rent collection processes being transitioned over to Eureka every time a new village was acquired. In order to fund these acquisitions, during the same period Eureka raised over $41m of equity from both institutional and retail investors and borrowed over $50m from NAB. Ryan was involved throughout this process which included; liaising with investors, fund managers and brokers; preparing investor presentations; participating in investor road-shows; and managing the relationship with the bank (including monitoring bank covenants).

Mawson West Ltd was a mining company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) with it's head office based in Perth. The company owned and operated a copper mine in the Democratic Republic of Congo and was in the process of building an additional mine and conducting continued exploration activities. As Senior Financial Accountant and reporting direct to the CFO, Ryan was involved in assisting with the day-to-day management of the finance department together with being responsible for monitoring cash flows and internal controls. Ryan was responsible for implementing a number of procedures and processes to help streamline existing systems and significantly improve the accuracy of the financial reports. A large part of Ryan's role at Mawson West included ensuring the financial statements and audit was completed on time in order to comply with requirements of the TSX. This included managing audit process from start to finish together with preparing financial reports and all associated disclosures as well as providing assistance to the Audit & Risk Committee. Furthermore, Ryan was responsible for the financial reporting and management discussion and analysis disclosures lodged each quarter on the TSX.
