I am a Youth Worker and Intergenerational Practitioner with a background in Community Education, currently based at the Citadel Youth Centre in Edinburgh, Scotland. I lead the innovative Youth Spark project, funded by the National Lottery – an initiative that empowers young people to explore and voice issues that matter to them and their communities through the creative use of technology. From 2015 to 2022, I served as the lead worker on the award-winning Old’s Cool Intergenerational Project. I am now co-leading the New Spin Intergenerational Café, in partnership with the Pilmeny Development Project. Both projects have successfully utilised intergenerational practice to strengthen connections within communities. My passion for intergenerational practice has grown to include a focus on digital approaches and hybrid delivery models. Since 2019, I have also been a member of the Community Advisory Board for the Institute of Community Studies, helping to ensure the Institute remains responsive to the evolving needs of communities across the UK. In addition, I have extensive experience as a school-based Youth Worker, supporting the development and well-being of students within local high schools.
