Ryan Messner Email and Phone Number
Aspiring Engineer studying Mechanical Engineering at North Dakota State University. Throughout High School, I have done difficult engineering classes like Intro to Engineering Design, Civil Engineering and Architecture, Aerospace Engineering, and Shakopee CAPS (Center for Advanced Professional Studies) for the Engineering and Manufacturing Academy at Shakopee High School. During the Shakopee CAPS Program, I had the opportunity to do an 8-week internship at Bayer Crop Science in Shakopee, MN. Throughout the internship, I gained valuable experience within the business environment such as networking and improving my communication, teamwork, and leadership skills with business professionals and fellow interns. Along with improving those skills, I gained valuable experience in Solidworks from the multiple projects that us interns were tasked to complete. Overall, I am very thankful for this experience before heading off to college. I’m also on my 8th year in the Boy Scouts of America and recently obtained the Highest and Hardest rank of Eagle Scout on August 30th, 2023. To get to that rank I had to do many Merit Badges, Volunteer Work, Rank Advancement, Leadership Positions, etc. For my Eagle Scout Project that I did on May 13th and 14th of 2023, I built 4 Wood Sheds for The Landing in Shakopee, MN. I designed these sheds with the help of the Engineering Design Process that I was taught in school and support from my mentor on specifications. Not long after finishing the project, all 4 were moved up to Hyland Park in Bloomington, MN. I also served as a Quartermaster/Camp Cook for Grey Wolf NYLT (National Youth Leadership Training) for Northern Star Council here in MN where I helped cook food for about Staff and Participants (120 people) through Servant Leadership. I also had to give a presentation to participants on planning and not only it helped them but it helped me throughout making it and practicing it many times. I was also on the Shakopee Mountain Bike Team for 5 Years and gained good communication, teamwork, and communication skills along with others that helped me become what I am today. During my senior year on the team, I was one of three team captains where we chose the races for the season and helped out coaches with any tasks.
