I've been employed at Vermont Systems since June 2015. We develop software for Parks and Rec, Universities, and the Armed Forces. My position is in the Implementation/Support department. Our software contains anything and everything our customers need in their daily operations, so it is a very broad and complex software. Most positions in software implementation/support focus on a small portion of the software. Here at VS, my implementation/support role makes me a project manager juggling 10-15 projects at any one time, varying in size and complexity. And I also need to be an expert in ALL pieces of the ever-changing software, as I am the ONLY person assigned to my projects. So I excel at prioritizing and managing multiple tasks with varying deadlines. I’m also a very quick learner and can easily explain technical concepts in a non-technical manner that anyone can understand. I graduated from Saint Michael's College in May 2015. I majored in accounting and have a minor in business administration. I finished a 2 year tax internship in April 2015 at Mcsoley McCoy & Co, in South Burlington. I prepared all types of tax returns (individual, corporations and non-profit) and was constantly learning from the great people that work there. The summers of 2011 and 2012 I worked for the South Burlington Rec Dept doing landscaping and park maintenance. From 2009-2011 I worked summers at Vermont Systems Inc. in Essex. I was a data entry specialist and also maintained sales orders.I've also volunteered with Special Olympics basketball the last 4 years. The athletes are some of the most genuine and upbeat people I know. It's a fun and rewarding experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
