Repair and overhaul of AC/DC motors, pumps and fans i.e. dismantling, inspection, fitting, assembly and testing of rotating electrical equipmentUse of laser alignment equipment and the dynamic balancing of rotors up to 20 tonne. Several generation projects at various power stations within the UK inclusive of Corby, Heysham and Eye power station. Alongside this I have travelled to work on a GE propulsion project in South Korea and also other generation projects in Israel and Bahrain. As a result of these opportunities I have been able to participate and thus develop my skillset in the following; • Full strip down and rebuild of 20 mega watt 11kv generator • Pulling and re-threading of rotor• Testing of general excitation• Testing of temperature sensors (RTDS)• Testing of insulation resistance and continuity• Phase resistance measurements of windings• Volt drop tests on windings• White metal bearing clearance checks• Boroscope inspections of stator and rotor windings• Testing stator heaters to earth and resistance
