• Apply for funding and carry out work plans which document Ontario’s Reptile Species at Risk on Aboriginal land. The project seeks to build capacity and enable Magnetawan First Nation to regain land stewardship. In particular, reptile Species at Risk conservation.• Major component of work plan involves Reptile Road Ecology. We are building a database which can be used after mitigation installation to measure effectiveness of exclusion wall and passage structures.• Create quality scientific data for use by band leadership (Chief and Council), Environment Canada and The Ontario Reptile and Amphibian Atlas.• Lead outreach initiatives informing the public on SAR reptile issues and Aboriginal land management including but not limited to; Radio broadcast, Public speaking forums, Newspaper, Community Newsletters, Conferences, Social Media and Television.• Manage yearly budgets, work plans, employees, volunteers and created Annual reports on activities.• Attend meetings on behalf of MFN, and participate in negotiation with corporations or government over land use planning.

• A position formed through the partnership of TOARC and University of Waterloo to investigate the timespan and ecological conditions necessary for afforested farmland to resemble the mature hardwood forests of Southern Ontario.• Conducted Forest Ecology research which required strong field identification of Ontario’s plant species.• Collected, recorded and filed data on standard forestry measurements taken at 45 sites across Southern Ontario.• Responsible for compilation of datasheets and management of excel database.• Assisted in the production of the annual report.• Conducted a broad scale literature review in the design stage • Provided assistance in experimental design at the outset of the project.
