I was initially hired for a seasonal job before Black Friday to help the store cope with large amounts of demand during holiday season. I was taken on as a part-time sales associate after demonstrating my abilities to effectively sell products to customers, successfully help hundreds of stressed customers every day, and work forty hours per week on top of school. After six months of experience, I was offered a job as the stock manager, which I politely declined as I enjoyed and excelled at dealing with customers. After a year, I was offered an assistant manager job, which I could not take on because that required at least thirty-five hours per week which I could not reasonably sustain while simultaneously attending school. After a year and a half I was offered the manager job at my store because the current manager was leaving, which again I unfortunately could not take because I was shortly leaving for college and I did not want to insult my district manager but immediately leaving the company after a promotion.
