I Provide patron surveillance, first aid/CPR, in water and out of water rescues. Educate patrons of in and around the water safety/ pool rules. Teach American Red Cross various Water Safety Learn to Swim classes to anyone 6 months and older. Charge/ take program fees. Assist in the office with work including photo copying, data entry, entering program registrations forms, occasionally fixed the computer and printer when asked, and any other varying office tasks assigned to me. And some documentation and customer service as required.

I work with Saint Joseph's College as a Water Safety Instructor of the American Red Cross. I teach professional group and private classes to infants, toddlers, teens, and adults. I teach skills that include but not limited to, be comfortable in an around the water, staying safe in and around the water, stroke development, stroke technique, improving stroke technique, and on occasion providing challenging lessons for triathlon trainees.

The job was full time but seasonal. It required watching over the lives of beach visitors in and around the water. Responsibilities include but not limited to: preventing accidents by patron surveillance and through educating the public of the park rules and safety of possible dangers. Conduct water rescues based on professional American Red Cross Training. Administer First Aid within scope of training and document each case. Handle missing person and other aquatic/ land emergency situations and document them. Work cooperatively with park Rangers and staff. Train and supervise a team of Lifeguards. Conduct periodic lifeguard in-service training's. Check emergency equipment and first aid supplies regularly. Answer all questions to visitors inquiries to the best of my knowledge. Participate in picking up litter and keeping the beach safe for the public.
