I joined the faculty of the top ranked public law school (Top 16) as an adjunct professor in the law school. I lead an experiential course providing training in interviewing, client counseling, and negotiation to 1L students. I strive to engage my students in the content and to improve their capabilities through the process with feedback and opportunities for growth. I do this through a combination of lecture, exercises, and assessments to advance the skills and knowledge of the learners.

I am the City Auditor for the largest municipality in the State of Minnesota. I serve on the executive leadership team with accountability for all audits in the enterprise. My team audits and reports on the financials, processes, programs, and trends across the enterprise. I set the vision and connect the key resources through that process to maintain alignment with the regulatory requirements and the strategic plan of the enterprise.My role is to manage the daily operations of the department as well as its portfolio of programs. I often serve as the key link between the elected officials, regulatory authorities, colleagues, and the public to advance our review of the issues. My commitment to the integrity of the process and systematic approach to innovating how we do things enables us to continue to improve the manner in which we achieve results.A few of my recent achievements include:• Lead up to 16 direct reports with full accountability for the department budget and performance on all audits.• Grew the department 400% through the continuous delivery of value to the enterprise on complex issues.• Evaluate audit findings and proposed corrective actions and present updates to elected officials and executives.• Completed the enterprise implementation of risk & audit software and expanded its utilization to improve security and collaboration in the audit review processes.• Audited 5 new areas (HR, legal, data privacy, ethics) for the first time resulting in increased controls.

I was promoted to Program Manager Supervisory for the Office of Police Conduct Review based on my success as an investigator. In this capacity, I built out a specialized audit function for the enterprise. This included creating the processes, implementing the tools, and scaling the best practices usinghighly sensitive data.My focus during this time was to build standardized practices and policies to evaluate the compliance and risk for the enterprise. My passion for technology and commitment to transparency enabled me to design and implement a dashboard that visualized information for a wide audience that required strictsecurity and privacy controls. This initiative changed the enterprise practices and was recognized nationally as the gold standard for the field. I led my team through a period of discovery and growth by focusing on the best practices. We asked tough questions, compiled the data to understand the situations, built safeguards to protect the information, and shared the insights with the enterprise. This collaborative, data-driven process enabled us to advance the programs across the matrixed enterprise.Results:• Led up to 2 direct reports in the analysis of legal compliance issues and research studies for the department.• Recognized nationally for establishing the gold standard of data reporting by concepting, building, and managing the public-facing Tableau dashboard providing real-time data and visualization for compliance program.• Launched the self-help portal in partnership with IT to streamline the ethics and compliance violation reporting process while improving the collection of data through the intake process.• Co-chaired the committee that implemented the federal programs to improve employee coaching and management oversight impacting about 1,000 employees.• Facilitated multiple audits of employee practices and impacts to the people served including the review of talent acquisition data, performance records, and video.

I joined the City of Minneapolis in the Department of Civil Rights in the Office of Police Conduct Review as an investigator after graduating magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School. I applied my legal training to take investigative matters through the full lifecycle and to prepare the appropriate documentation for the matters. I also performed legal research for leadership on complex issues as they arose.In this role, I served as the liaison between stakeholders in the process. This meant building relationships, gathering evidence, and thoroughly documenting matters. My strong interpersonal skills enabled me to build relationships with a wide range of people throughout highly sensitive and complex issues. These connections made it easier for me to uncover the underlying issues and to provide appropriate recommendations or determinations on matters.Wins during this time were:• Managed a busy caseload of highly sensitive compliance matters with discretion and integrity.• Took on additional legal research projects to provide guidance to the department leadership on emerging issues.• Served as the liaison between the complainant and accused to gather data and reach appropriate conclusions.• Issued writing findings and determinations based on comprehensive investigations for use in legal proceedings.

I was a research assistant during my second and third years at law school. During this time, I supported the international economics research for a tenured professor and his colleagues. I worked on a variety of legal research publications including peer-reviewed publications during the school year while spending my summers clerking with other organizations to broaden my experience through law school.My strong analysis and attention to detail skills enabled me to tackle a wide range of research projects during this time. This area of law required analysis of broader economic data and information to provide an appropriate analysis of the legal implications. I dove into these projects and covered a wide range of topics that supported a range of works in the field.
