Project highlights include the complete construction of a large natural gas compressor station and the conversion of three coal-fired Combustion Engineering boilers to burn either coal or natural gas. Responsibilities also include ongoing management of maintenance and capital projects at multiple Talen Energy electric generating stations; Supervise all trade disciplines and manage all aspects of the projects – from initial estimating and bidding through commissioning and closeout. Worked as a coordinator for the project Corrective Actions Program - part of the site Performance Improvement Program. Urenco USA is being constructed under an NRC combined Construction and Operating License (COL). Responsible for initiating, managing, investigating and evaluating Condition Reports as well as the assignment and implementation of corrective actions. Root Cause Evaluation trained. Also developed the Project Experience Briefing “Green Book”, detailing the nuclear construction process as a guide for future Urenco project management and subcontractors. The briefings are being excerpted by INPO (Institute of Nuclear Power Operations) for use in their "lessons learned" and "best practices" publications.

Worked in support of process piping installation for the SWPF project at DOE Savannah River Site. Responsibilities included work plan development, weld map creation and updating, and field engineering.

Mechanical (CORE Equipment)Given additional responsibilities with the CORE Equipment Department, in parallel with duties in the Construction Department, to help support project needs. Responsible for complete project management and field supervision for the installation and site testing of fundamental equipment in the uranium enrichment process, including pump trains, cryogenic heater/chiller units, sampling rigs, etc. Coordinate with domestic and international vendors for engineering issues and onsite installation and commissioning support. Programs and PerformanceIntegral part of the Programs and Performance Group of the Construction Department at LES. The National Enrichment Facility (NEF) is being built to provide enriched uranium to supply the U.S. nuclear power industry. The NEF is being constructed under the first combined Construction and Operating License (COL) ever issued by the NRC. Responsibilities included earned value progress tracking, contract and invoice review, change order control, and field verification of work complete on two time-and-material contracts totaling $80 million. Continually worked above responsibility level to find and implement cost-saving initiatives and support contract negotiations. Assisted in the implementation of cost reviews and cost recovery efforts. Provided field assessment and expertise to support senior management. Repeatedly recognized for outstanding achievement. Worked with the site Corrective Actions Program to initiate Condition Reports and implement Corrective Actions. Assisted in the investigation of Apparent and Root Causes.

Ppl Montour Steam Electric Station - Washingtonville, Pa

Worked in support of the Commissioning and Turnover Departments and as a Construction Field Supervisor for a design/procure/build FGD absorber project. Responsibilities included the creation, completion, and verification of the project punch-list, QA/QC coordination for the repair of a field-erected tank lining, development of a schedule and plan for the installation of a passenger elevator, direct supervision of the subcontractor responsible for final install and commissioning of the project HVAC system, direct supervision of the subcontractors responsible for the installation and commissioning of the project passenger elevator, procurement, material control, and all other related project field engineering. Worked closely with the mechanical commissioning engineers for the start-up of all major mechanical equipment, including all pumps, ID fans, ball mills, and conveyors.

Ppl Montour Steam Electric Station - Washingtonville, Pa

Integral part of the on-site engineering team for a design/procure/build FGD absorber project. Worked closely with the Resident Engineer to manage all engineering reporting and the project RFI system.
