As an environmental tech I was responsible for taking various types of samples, including drilling mud, water, and soil. Performing various tests on samples both in the field as well as in the lab. Report writing, in regards to certain government agencies, as well as in house reports. Public relations was also a large part of being a field tech. Contacting land owners in regards to signing up land and water use for oil and gas rigs. Using GPS as well as other various tools depending on the task at hand.

Working as a general laborer, my tasks included site wide cleanup , light carpentry work, using various power tools, problem solving, working within a team as well as under minimal supervision. Working in all weather conditions in a remote camp situation

Working on all areas of the deck, this includes working on the rail hauling in lobster pots, banding, lifting various items, general duties as well as any other duties carried out on a lobster vessel.

Working as an observer, I worked long hours usually 18+ hours for 3-5 days at a time with 4-6 hours of sleep per day. My duties were linited to crab fishing vessels, where I was sent to ensure proper fishing regulations were being followed, collecting data on crab this included sampling crab, measuring and working with difficult people. Working in inclement weather and in extreme temperatures.This position included much field work (on vessel) and much paperwork.
