Nineteen years in the field of Education has given me countless opportunities to improve my skills and approach to teaching. I see myself as a facilitator of learning. My goal in any classroom (Adult, Youth, Online, ESL or Traditional Classroom) is to create an atmosphere of respect where students feel comfortable learning, asking questions, and experimenting with the curriculum. Learning is enhanced when motivation and interest level is high. Part of my role as a facilitator of learning is to create opportunities in lessons that are motivating and fun. Objectives:Create a flexible learning environment to promote student ownership and independence in their education.Deliver curriculum in a student-centered manner, supporting the diverse needs of the students.Engage students in creative and meaningful learning contexts.Better understand the complex nature of challenges that students face and to effectively support their learning.Bring real life context to learning and infusing fun and humour when appropriate.Continue the evolution of my teaching and remain open to new ideas and methods of teaching.
