Mental Health Worker

Tasks included:-One on one mentoring with clients who previously had or were recovering from mental health disorders. Working together, the client and I would create healthy eating and exercise routines that the client enjoyed, building a foundation for increased confidence and working towards making new relationships or improving current ones, in some cases even finding work.- Creating and presenting Workshops to help inform and raise awareness about mental health and its symptoms, the impact it has on relationships and its connection with drug usage and dietary choices. Similar to the mentoring sessions but on a group level I also gave food and exercise routines, beneficial to the clients but also their families so they could pass them on if needed. Many group goals were given to be completed by the next session; this was found to be very successful.-Regular communication with doctors/psychiatrists/police via phone, email or meetings. Updating information on the clients, such as changes in medication or dosage, changes in family or living situations, general health and check-up results. All of these items were monitored to ensure the client had the optimum level of care and was safe.
