Manufacturing Engineer II within Cardiometabolic Business Unit. I provide support for automated manufacturing process equipment, including troubleshooting equipment issues, equipment modification, failure analysis, etc. for the Abbott manufacturing environment. I help develop, implement and maintain methods, operation sequences and processes in the manufacture and fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies. I also Interface with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products. I provide manufacturing cost estimates, determine time standards and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements for new and existing product lines.

I worked on projects involving the scale-up manufacturing process of C3A cells through the use of DeltaV controlled bioreactors. One of my areas of focus was creating and designing parts, utilizing Solidworks software, for the bioreactors. I also ran experiments validating, and qualifying new materials and equipment for use on the bioreactors. I also worked closely with vendors and contract manufacturers to produce the parts I designed. I helped define, confirm and establish process requirements for successful transfer of new and enhanced processes to the GMP manufacturing facility.
