Throughout my personal, academic, and professional endeavors I have had extraordinary opportunities to develop strong leadership, change management, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills while working in a broad variety of health care contexts. For the past 4 years I have been working within the Provincial Quality and Healthcare Improvement (QHI) portfolio with Alberta Health Services (AHS) – first with the Engagement & Patient Experience (EPE) Team as a senior consultant and now with the Improving Health Outcomes Together Team (IHOT) as a senior project manager and now as the Director (acting). During this time, I have had the privilege of continuously engaging with patients, families, operational and medical leaders, and clinicians as partners to enhance quality, safety, and process improvement throughout our health system. I am passionate about patient and family centred care and recognize the incredible value of listening and understanding patient and family experiences with our healthcare system – both positive and negative – and utilizing this knowledge to continuously improve. Through my roles with QHI, I have extensive experience engaging with QHI leadership, zone and site operational and medical leaders, as well as front line leaders and clinicians to improve the quality of our services. Much of this work entails the development of rapport and collaborative relationships / partnerships with diverse stakeholders both internal and external to AHS, utilizing the voice of patients and families / patient feedback at the core of the work, the utilization of data, and alignment of organizational and local priorities in coming to optimal outcomes.In both my professional and personal life I am known to be a strong communicator and connector, innovative and analytical thinker, and action oriented - committed to finding positive outcomes though engagement and attention to detail.
