I use neuroimaging, behavioral data, and computational modeling to understand normal and impaired language processing. My research focuses on understanding what regions of the brain are involved in language and what computations those regions are performing.

As a PhD candidate in cognitive neuroscience, I studied language processing and representation in both neurotypical and post-stoke aphasic/alexic subjects. I use neuroimaging, behavior, and machine learning/big data to better understand how neural activity allows us to communicate and understand the world and words around us.

I designed and implemented analyses for fMRI data, focused on both childhood language acquisition and healthy adult reading. In doing so, I implemented a novel analysis for linking variability in fMRI signal to reading skill and a pipeline for estimating physiological noise in the fMRI signal. I also designed code to generate lists of experimental stimuli and data utilities for other researchers.
